The Perdriau home sits on one of the premier lake front lots in Apple Canyon Lake. The well kept plantscape is easily recognizable to anyone that has spent time on the lake. Dominated by large mature trees and huge sweeps of groundcover, the plantings are unsurpassed in the resort. While we would love to take credit for the entire landscape, we cannot (although we would try if Monika & Buzz were not going to read this). Much of the planting was done years before our firm began operation. If you have seen the gardens, it is easy to see the time it must require to perform the maintenance that keeps everything looking crisp.
Over the last couple of years, the Perdriau’s had us install a flagstone patio and walk, a large terrace stone garden, a brick patio and a bunch of other stuff. Of course, working at a site with an extensive existing landscape presents some challenges. The new work must be integrated into the site without disrupting the organic flow of the mature gardens (Note: I don’t know what any of that means, but it sure sounds artsy & professional). For example, the stone gardens. As you can see from the below photos, the curves and terraces of the stone garden look great. When looking at the stone work it is difficult to tell that it had to be built on three levels with a serpentine shape to each terrace because of the location of the existing LP and septic tanks. Likewise, the brick patio bends around two large existing trees and a bed of ground cover.
The lower photos show some of the flagstone walks thru the lake gardens.
We would like to thank the Perdriau family for letting us show you their landscape.
